Charlie regularly gives talks at festivals, gardening clubs and other groups about how building his own garden helped him overcome the grief he felt when he lost both his parents, about gardening generally, about his book Skymeadow and about his work on the Modern Slavery Garden.

The Modern Slavery Garden designed by Juliet Sargeant won a Gold Medal and The People’s Choice award at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2016. Charlie has been involved in campaigning on modern slavery issues since 2011.
